The Series is about Jennie Malone, a fictitious Psychic Medium who uses her paranormal Gifts to deliver inspiring and helpful messages from the spirit world to her clients with the assistance of her spirit guide, Mica. Her office is in her store, The Sunflower Shoppe, which is off the main town square of the (fictional) town of Del Vista in Central Florida. Her naming of the store reflects the notion that sunflowers are a symbol of mediumship and of good luck; good luck being something the new medium feels she needs as she delves deeper into her craft and skills.
In Book 1 Jennie has just opened her store, has hired, Megan, as her new assistant and store manager, and has sublet the office across the hall from hers to her best friend and fellow medium, Deanna Dey. Deanna and Jenny met during mediumship training under the expert evidential mediumship tutelage of Sara Kelsey. Sara is a compilation of several mediumship instructors I have had the pleasure of meeting and learning from. Jennie lives alone in the apartment at the back of the store, and longs for romance.
As the story begins, Jennie is a divorced, the mother of two adult children (Kate and Nathan), and a grandmother. Her ex-husband is Ben Malone, and their daughter Kate, aren’t happy about her new career. But their son, Nathan, is typically supportive of his mother. Kate lives an hour away from Jennie, with her husband, Brad, and their children, Lola and Evan. Nathan lives hours away in Portage Lakes, Ohio with his wife, Bridgette, and their daughter, Emily.
Jennie's story is a visionary, mystical, paranormal tale of romance, of facing life’s challenges and fears, and of personal growth that offers the reader a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the life of being a medium. The series was originally titled as Jennie's Gifts.
